Compare Contrast Sikhism and Christianity
Creation/beginning
“In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.” –Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
In Catholicism, the creation is detailed at length in the book of Genesis. In a nutshell they believe that God created everything from light, to the universe and thusly earth. Sikhs believe that the world is eternal and has always been.
Purpose
In Catholicism the purpose is to serve god by following his commandments. In Sikhism the purpose is to practice in a way that will grant them positive Kharma.
End-game/ Afterlife
In Catholicism, a belief that ones soul goes to either heaven, hell, and until recently a “limbo” was a part of the afterlife dogma of the church. In Sikhism, freeing ones process of reincarnation and reunion with Waheguru is the final achievement.
